What we collect

Last updated 15 July 2026.

If you're playing

You don’t make an account. You scan a code, type a name, and play. That name is the only thing you give us, and you choose it — plenty of people type “Beard Guy”.

  • ·The name you typed.
  • ·Your crew's name, and the number it drew each period.
  • ·Whether your crew won each period.

Your crew’s key and your colour choice are stored on your own phone, not on our servers.

Email — only if you ask us to

At the end of a night we offer to keep your crew’s key safe, and only then. If you give us an email address it is used for one thing: getting your crew back if you lose the key.

We don’t send marketing. We don’t sell or share it. We never ask before a game, because asking a stranger for their email before they’ve had any fun is a fair way to be told no.

If you run a venue

Venues have an account: an email address and a password. We store your bar’s name, any image you upload, and the games you build. That’s it.

What we don't collect

  • ·No location.
  • ·No contacts, photos, or microphone.
  • ·No advertising ID, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking.
  • ·No analytics or behavioural profiling. We don't have an analytics tool installed at all.
  • ·No payment details. We don't take payments from players.

Ads

Some venues’ games show adverts at the bottom of your phone screen. They are pictures chosen by us or by the bar — they are not targeted at you, and they don’t track you. We have nothing to target you with.

Where it lives

Game data is stored with Supabase (Postgres), and the site is served by Netlify. Both may process data in the United States.

Getting rid of it

Ask and we’ll delete your crew’s record and any email you gave us: privacy@settleitgame.com. You can also just delete the app — the key is on your phone, and without it a crew name is a word in a list.

Children

Settle It is for a general audience and has a Family setting for rooms with kids in them. We don’t knowingly collect anything from children beyond a chosen first name, and there’s nothing else to collect.
