  The example prize in My bar's leaderboard settings is now a $25 food credit. Wings, food credits, merch and a booth make great prizes; drinks can't be prizes in many states.

• BetterA sample bar for the demo videos

  Our sample bar, Frank & Niki's, shows every feature in the how-to videos. It never appears on Find a bar or the leaderboards, so the map and the boards only ever show real bars.

• NewCollect your prize

  When your crew wins, your phone shows a prize card: your crew, the prize, the period and a live clock. Show it at the bar. Staff tap Prize given on the controls, and every phone in the crew shows it as given. My bar's Past nights says which prizes went out.

• NewVerify your bar to be on the map

  A bar shows on Find a bar once its owner taps Verify on their phone at the bar. Set up from anywhere and run games straight away; the banner on your controls and in Your Settle It says when it's still to do.

• NewThe rules, the terms, and a person to ask

  Official rules (how a winner is decided, with an example, and no purchase necessary), terms of use, and Help: a short form a person answers. They're at the foot of the home screen and in Your Settle It.

  This page. Every release, in plain words, newest first. Tap the version number on the home screen.

• NewDelete this bar

  At the bottom of My bar: type the bar's name and it's gone, its past games kept with no bar on them. Then the account can be deleted too. Handing it to someone else? Ask us and we move it.

• BetterPrivacy, up to date

  The privacy page now covers the leaderboards, your results on your account, the Boards switch, and what Get a code and Ask us keep.

  A new game opens on one short page: the sport, tonight's games to tap, the prize if there is one, and Lock it in. Every other setting is still one tap away in Edit everything.

• NewPlay again, keep your crew

  When the night's over your phone offers the next game, and a free account that keeps your crew, its wins and its key. Signed in, it's one tap.

• BetterPlay at home, already picked

  Play at home on the watch list brings that game with it, so the controls open ready to go.

• BetterA renamed crew stays your crew

  Rename your crew in the game and the new name comes back next time, and tonight's wins still count as yours. Unsaved stars in Favorites wait for you if you look somewhere else first. The leaderboards are on the home screen.

  When the number lands, the controls show which crew takes it and the prize, so you know who to pay without looking up at the TV.

• NewA TV address you can type

  Your bar's TV is now settleitgame.com/tv/ and tonight's code. Type it once with the remote: it becomes your bar's own screen and stays on after tonight. With two games waiting, the TV picks the one about to kick off.

• BetterHand it over, take it back

  Hand it to someone else shows a QR they scan, then the host key. A bar can take the controls back right there. Playing too? Join your own game from the controls.

• NewPast nights

  My bar keeps every finished night: who won, the prize and the recap, plus how often each of your specials was seen in the last 30 days. Start a game lists every game of yours that's on.

• NewGet a code for your bar

  Settle It is free for bars while we launch. Tell us about your bar on For bars, the bar plan or Redeem, and we send you a code to set it up.

• BetterSaved means saved

  If a change to your bar, a game on your calendar or Edit everything doesn't stick, the screen says so and keeps what you typed. Deleting a game on your calendar asks twice.

• BetterAlways a way forward

  A wrong code lets you try another right there. Scan an old code and you'll see that night's over, with the recap and tonight's games. Your Settle It has Join a game and Start a game at the top, and the logo takes you home.

• NewEdit everything, in one go

  On your game's controls, Edit everything opens every setting on one page: the game and its kickoff time, the room, the prize, which specials and pictures show tonight (add one right there), the leaderboard, crew photos and when the night ends. One Save, and the TV updates.

• NewThe TV waits with your bar

  Before kickoff your bar's TV shows your pictures or specials, your leaderboard, tonight's game in team colours, the prize, the crews as they join, and the code to join. At kickoff it turns into the game.

• BetterBack to your account from the controls

  Tap your bar's name at the top of the controls for Your Settle It, My bar, or another game. The TV button gives your bar's own TV address, which opens in its own tab. Hand it to someone else and End the game are there before kickoff too.

• NewFree, or the bar plan

  A free account plays, hosts and keeps your crews and teams. Running a bar is the bar plan: see what it adds side by side, and use a code from us to start. Your bar's account shows the plan, the bar and Open the TV up top.

• BetterYour bar's game, always in your hands

  When your bar's game is on, Start a game and Your Settle It both have Back to the controls, whichever phone or computer started it, including a game you built ahead for tonight. Open the TV opens in its own tab, so the controls stay where you are. Nothing on the TV is for tapping.

• NewChange your email

  In Account, tap Change by your email. We send a link to the new address, and the change is done when you tap it.

• BetterTap a team, then Save

  In Favorites, tap anywhere on a team to star it. Starred teams turn white, and Save at the bottom keeps them.

• BetterYour watch list, in team colours

  Each game is a card with both teams in their colours.

  On a browser you're signed out when it closes, unless you tick Keep me signed in on this device. The app keeps you in.

  Your Settle It shows a game you're running or playing, never one someone else had going on the same phone.

  Bars can put their regulars and crews up the side of the screen all game, or between periods, with their own line on top: a prize, a promise, a brag.

  One link to leave on the TV. With no game on it shows the board, the next games in the teams' colours, and the bar's full-screen pictures. When the game starts it switches over by itself.

  Make your free account with the name the screen should call you. Then joining a game signed in is one tap: it already knows you and your crew. Not you tonight? Change it, for tonight only or for good.

• NewMore than one crew, with a name in each

  Keep every crew you play with on Your crews, and go by a different name in each if you like. Pick which one Join offers first, or play as another crew tonight.

• BetterYour Settle It says hi

  It greets you by name and puts tonight on top: the game you're in, or the next Settle It night at your bars or for your teams, with directions. Signing up now looks like the game, and so does the email.

• BetterThe bar's deals while you join

  The joining screen now shows the bar's ads and a way to find other Settle It bars.

• BetterFavorites: the teams are back

  Pick a league on Favorites and the teams are there to star. They weren't, for anyone, because the team list wouldn't answer the phone directly; it now comes through us.

• BetterMy bar: save it your way, and the season by day

  Set the whole page up and save it once from the bar at the bottom; later, change one thing and save just that section. Your games now sit under their days: each day is a tile with the date on it, grouped by month, today in white and already open. Tap a day to see its games, add one on that day, or open the TV. A game tied to a real one is marked Auto: it starts itself at kickoff once a crew has joined.

• BetterYour bar's address finds its pin

  Find it on My bar now checks the US address directory first, so a street the map didn't know still lands on the map and on Find a Settle It bar. Standing in the bar? Put the pin where you're standing. And My bar says Saved every time it saves.

• NewYour Settle It: a free account, if you want one

  Sign in from the top of the front page. Keep your favorite teams and the bars you follow, see your teams' games this week with the Settle It bars running them (and add them to your calendar), save your crew at the end of a night so there's no key to type, and set a name and logo for games at home. You still never need an account to play.

• NewStart a game, as your bar

  Signed in as a bar, Start a game starts your bar's game, with your name, logo and specials on the TV and every phone. A free game is one tap under it. Not signed in? "Own a bar? Sign in first" is right there.

  Run a bar? Tap "Settle It for bars" at the bottom of the front page to see what your bar gets, set up an account and sign in to the Portal. Players still never need an account.

  See the bars near you with a game tonight or this week, get directions, and add it to your calendar. Free games carry a small strip of ads and nearby bars, and that's what keeps them free.

• NewThe Portal, for bars

  One place for a bar to sign in: its games, its specials, its branding, and its spot on the map. Bars that have a code from us redeem it in a browser and get Settle It free for that time.

• BetterSpecials on a timetable

  A bar can set when each special runs, like happy hour from 4 to 7 on weekdays, and pick different specials for one game. Only what's on now shows up.

• BetterWho everyone's rooting for

  On the big screen, each name carries a tag in its team's colours. Margin is now called Gap: the gap between the scores, whoever's ahead.

• BetterThe logo from the box

  The Settle It mark now matches the printed box, everywhere.

• NewSomeone wins every quarter

  With two or more crews in the room, all ten numbers are shared out between them, so every quarter has a winner. Two crews hold five numbers each. Bars can keep it this way or switch to Classic, one number each.

• BetterThe crews are the show

  The big screen is now the crews: your numbers in your crew's colour, big when there are a few of you and smaller as more crews join. Last quarter's winner gets a halo, and every crew shows how many it's won tonight.

• NewThe night ends itself

  A few minutes after the last quarter, the night wraps up: the champion goes up on the screen and every phone gets its recap. The bar picks how long, or turns it off.

• NewYour bar's colour

  A bar can pick one colour for its own corner of the screens: its name, the prize, the join code and the frame round its specials.

• BetterYour crew comes back as it was

  Bring your crew back with its key and its icon, colour and photo come back too.

• NewYour crew, with a face

  Give your crew an icon or a photo and a colour. It goes up on the big screen next to your name, so the room knows who's who from across the bar.

• BetterSet the night up once

  Setup is a short checklist: the game, the room, the prize and your bar. Lock it in and the night starts itself at kickoff. Your bar's name, logo and specials are on the TV from the moment it's switched on.

• BetterAlways a way back, always a way out

  If you're hosting, the front page and your player sheet take you straight back to the controls, and you can end the game at any time. Finished games stop pulling you back in.

• NewOne game per phone

  A phone plays in one game at a time. If you're still in another, it takes you back there, or lets you leave it and join the new one.

  Pick tonight's game from the list and the score comes in on its own. Each period settles a moment after it ends on the broadcast — never ahead of the TV — and the next numbers are dealt without anyone touching a phone. The bar can take the controls back at any time.

  Black and white, raised off the screen like the box it comes in. Your number is a coin that flips white when it lands, and the big moment hits harder on the TV.

• NewSettle It on your phone, before the stores

  Android players can install the app from app.settleitgame.com/install; on iPhone, add it to your home screen. Lose signal and it tells you, then gets you back in with one tap.

  Scan the code off the screen and you're in — no app, no account. Teams show in their real colours, the whole bar plays along with the game on the TV, and every period someone wins whatever the bar puts up.

  When it ends, the big screen tells the story of the night — who took what, period by period. Keep your crew's key and next time picks up where you left off.

• NewYour bar, on the screen

  Your name and logo sit opposite Settle It all night, and your specials rotate at the bottom of every screen. Build your games — a weekend or a whole season — ahead of time, then just open the TV on the day.
